In order to keep track of its numerous projects, MARKOWSKI Vermessung opted for the rmDATA Projects organization software.

With around 25 employees, the surveying office MARKOWSKI Vermessung ZT GmbH in Feldkirch is probably the largest office in Vorarlberg. Its core competencies lie in cadastral, construction, and engineering surveying and scanning. “3D laser scanning with drones and terrestrial scanners offers enormous potential and has been established for years for inventory surveys,” reports Managing Director Martin Heim.

The challenge: Growing amounts of data require a new solution

Hundreds of business figures are created each year as a result of numerous projects. The previous software had reached its capacity limits, and standalone databases and Outlook were no longer sufficient. There was a need for digital resource allocation and continuous documentation.

Since the data flow had already proven itself with rmDATA software in calculation and planning, it was obvious for Martin Heim to also rely on the interaction with the rmDATA Projects organization software.

“It was important to us to have a clear interface and easy-to-use software that everyone—from assistants to surveyors—could get to grips with. rmDATA Projects guarantees this,” says Heim.

Efficient project management thanks to central data storage and map view

In rmDATA Projects, employees not only record their working hours, they also keep track of all projects and more than 23,000 business figures (GZ). The integrated map from the WebGIS rmDATA GeoWeb greatly simplifies project searches. This means that completed orders can be found quickly by entering the GZ, KG number, or property number. Pins in the map view show whether data is already available for an area.

The office benefits from simple time recording, automatic booking of daily allowances, and documentation of consumables in the field. Additional notes on a project or field service help with billing later on. Hardware resources can also be easily booked to employees. The big advantage here is that the data is stored centrally and can be accessed by all employees from anywhere, regardless of whether they are working in the field or in the office.

Mobile working revolutionizes field service

Data can be entered both on a desktop and via a mobile device. The rmDATA Projects mobile app enables easy recording of times in the field, a calendar view, task management, and viewing of business figures and contacts. This means that they can also be found quickly in the field.

The stored number allows you to call immediately, and the saved address makes it easy to navigate to the contact. The managing director outlines a practical example: “By simply entering time, materials, and people, the passenger can document the field service with just a few clicks on the way home.”
