Hochneukirchen Saves Time and Money with rmDATA Information System
Surveying, surveying, and providing information: rmDATA Smart Infra secures long-term knowledge about infrastructure and helps avoid unnecessary investments.
The municipality of Hochneukirchen-Gschaidt, located on the edge of the Bucklige Welt region, relies on an rmDATA Information System solution for providing information and operating its municipal infrastructure.
Complete Solution for Municipal Infrastructure
The standard product, rmDATA Smart Infra, is a web-based information system that manages data from wastewater disposal, water supply, lighting, cemeteries, natural features, empty conduits, trees, and traffic signs in a central database. Basic data such as properties and their owners, addresses, and zoning plans support the work. Users have full access to all infrastructure information anytime, anywhere – on any device.
Example: Cemetery Register
For the digital cemetery register, the head of the building authority independently recorded the individual graves using a GNSS measuring device and the rmDATA Mobile app. No prior knowledge was required. The intuitive operation of the mobile application allows for an easy entry into the world of surveying.
During the recording process, attribute data such as sector, row, and grave number are also assigned. Photos of the gravestone are taken directly on-site and linked to the grave. Without any manual imports or exports, the data is available to colleagues in the municipal office and building yard in the information system in no time, fully automatically and directly.
Challenge: Utility Register
Municipal employees also record house connections and streetlights for the corresponding register. "The integrated staking function, which makes it possible to locate pipes or manhole covers in the field, is particularly interesting for us," emphasizes Thomas Heissenberger. The biggest challenge, according to the mayor, is the lack of precise surveying of old utility lines. Therefore, excavation work always involves a risk. Today, new pipelines are surveyed using GNSS while the trench is still open, and the data is directly integrated into the information system. This ensures that the digital pipeline register is always up to date. Unnecessary investments in the pipeline register have been a thing of the past since the introduction of Smart Infra.
Shared Database
Hannes Luckerbauer uses a tablet to carry out maintenance work in the municipality and sees many advantages in the mobile application: “My colleagues in the municipal office see the survey results immediately in rmDATA Smart Infra and use them for inquiries or invoices. Everyone has access to the same data, whether in the office or out in the field.”
Delegating and Documenting Work Orders
Mayor Thomas Heissenberger is enthusiastic about the maintenance catalog function. Planning, executing, and documenting all maintenance measures, defects, servicing, and inspection activities are done directly in rmDATA Smart Infra as well as on-site using the mobile application rmDATA Mobile.
Heissenberger cites the regular maintenance and visual inspections at the local playground as a positive example. Smart Infra sends reminders for recurring work orders. The software documents the completed maintenance work in a way that complies with legal requirements. With Smart Infra, Hochneukirchen-Gschaidt is on the safe side when it comes to infrastructure and avoids unnecessary expenses.
"We save time and money, it's easy to use, and the data in the web-based solution is always up-to-date – these are all advantages that make us so confident in rmDATA Smart Infra."
"What's particularly interesting for us is the integrated staking function, which makes it possible to locate pipes or manhole covers in the field. This prevents unpleasant surprises during excavation work."
