As a second-generation family business, Schaffelhofer GmbH provides its customers in the Gallneukirchen area with broadband internet and cable TV. With a steadily growing network and currently around 2,500 customers, the company was looking for a modern solution for network management.

‘The previous management system with analogue plans, the state GIS and Excel spreadsheets was becoming increasingly cumbersome,’ recalls Managing Director Dominik Schaffelhofer. The solution was found in rmDATA Smart Networx – software that centrally manages all network information. ‘The very first presentation completely convinced us, both of the software and the competent team behind it.’

rmDATA Smart Networx covers all the tasks of a network operator: from project-related planning of an expansion to the construction of the network, supported by pipe, blow-in and splice plans, as well as the measurement of the routes, to the reporting of network data to the regulatory authority (RTR). At Schaffelhofer GmbH, too, everyone now works together on a central database. Copying files and importing and exporting data are now a thing of the past.

The implementation quickly brought noticeable improvements: while senior boss Christian Schaffelhofer digitally records routes and route nodes directly on the construction site, his son Dominik manages the allocation of routes and customer connections in the office. ‘This integrated digital solution enables us to process customer enquiries much more quickly – whether from the office, the construction site or our home office,’ reports Dominik Schaffelhofer enthusiastically.
